Pondering AI
14th April 2026
AI is well and truly here; for all that the Tales of the Forty-Fourth Century are cautionary tales of a post AI/ post Robot world, I've still taken a look to see what it can do. I set it a simple task, take a pen and ink drawing of Angela Landau and turn that into a photorealistic image. I prompted it for her colouring, uniform material, and name badge, but it came up with a spacecraft background all on its own and she has the right number of fingers!
See below the image used for the prompt and the result after just one edit:

Original pen & ink drawing

AI generated image (using Firefly Gemini)

Fourth image, when I prompted it to show her full height and correct an error that crept in with her name badge - didn't like this version as much, but with a limit on credits it was worth the experiment.
Used up all my free credits, but it makes me wonder about buying some more.
